About Mackin Max

Some things on Mac�'�| he's a LOVER and a snuggler. He often demands to be the center of attention and pushes Ruby (his foster sibling who is much bigger than him) out of the way when we try to love on her for a bit. He is a jealous boy. Lol. But He's a very happy boy that loves to run and romp outside. He likes to lay in the 8' beach of our pool and cool off on hot days. He doesn't like his crate but he sleeps in it every night as long as we give him a pig ear to start! Cats�'�|. We haven't allowed him to fully interact unsupervised with our kitty. He is on high alert when he sees her and while he's never made a move to 'attack' her when we introduce them, he has barked at her and if she runs I'm sure he'd chase. We generally keep them separate. He's good with our kids. I always supervise play though as he doesn't like to feel 'challenged.' He is getting better at car rides. He doesn't like them very much and tries to stand up but eventually gets used to it and lies down on the seat. He's fine with other dogs, again, as long as the other isn't aggressive or challenging him�'�| and he WILL fight for snacks/food so best to keep dogs separate for feeding and treat time. He doesn't 'play' with toys really. He may further down the line but he only seems interested in treats at this time, not nylon chews or plush. He's leash trained and yes, potty trained but on occasion he will try to mark inside if he smells another scent. He will also piddle if he gets scared. He comes to work with me almost every day and is getting more comfortable being around other people and dogs. He's not an 'active' boy�'�| pretty relaxed and enjoys sleeping most of the day. His back legs/hips seem a little atrophied and/or were injured at some point??? Not entirely sure why, but he can't jump up on high furniture without assistance.
