About Archie

ARCHIE!!! Archie is a young golden retriever mix. We don't know what the mix is, so we are guessing at a few different things. Everyone that meets him, thinks he's a great dog! He's such a nice balance of playful and calm. He is happy to hang out quietly while you're working or doing other things. He can be a great bike riding buddy and would be a great running buddy as well. He's super handsome! He's house trained and can be inside for long periods without an accident. He rarely chews anything, but we are working on crate training him, just for those occasions where he might get into trouble. He would be great for someone who works from home as he will sit quietly while you are doing your work! Now a few cautions: He can get over a 5 foot fence (he does not seem inclined to go over a 6 foot fence, but you would want to exercise caution in the early stages of getting to know him. He is a dog that needs structure and leadership to be his best self and a calm but active home. He's not good with young children (10 and under and he seems to be against brown haired kids for some reason). He's good with most dogs with proper intro but can be reactive on leash. He is food possessive and sometimes noise reactive, so he's best separated from other dogs when humans aren't supervising play. (That may improve with some structure and training, but hard to say) But let's focus on the good! Archie is a love! We think he's about 2 years old. He's fixed, chipped, and current on core vaccines.
