About Chili Dog

Meet Chili Dog! Chili is a mixed breed dog who is about 7-8 months old. She is currently around 25-30 pounds so we don't forsee her being a large dog. We can't be sure what breed she is but will likely be a nice medium size when grown. Chili was obviously the result of an unplanned litter and didn't get all the love and socializing that most puppies get when they are babies. Then Chili, and her brother Billy, were taken to a rural shelter that kills most of the dogs there, especially the ones who need a little extra lovin' to come around. We sure do hate to see puppies be euthanized, so we welcomed them to Augusta Dog Adoptions! Chili's foster mom has been working hard to teach her all the things that good dogs should know and she's a quick learner! Chili can now walk onleash and will let her foster mom pick her up! She's crate trained and working on house training but will need an adopter who is willing to keep working on that. Shy by nature, Chili can be scared of loud noises and quick movements so a tranquil home would help him feel more secure. She loves to play with other dogs and sees them as a source of fun and comfort. She would be so lucky to find a home with a fenced in yard and at least one happy dog to be her buddy! In a day when so many adopters expect perfection, it's hard to find good people that will take a dog who needs just a little bit of care and training to be their best. When Chili first came to us, she would and did bite when scared or overwhelmed. We are proud to be able to save dogs like Chili and hope we can find him a home that sees as much value in her as we do! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
