About Bowie

Meet Bowie, the sweetest little 5 month old Lab mix ever! He's not a typical puppy. He's more like an old soul, way wiser than most pups his age. He's non-destructive...yes, a Lab pup who doesn't chew everything in sight!!! And he's pretty close to being housetrained (after just a few days in a foster home). Bowie had a rough start to his life. This young pup was found on the streets of rural TN by a good samaritan. He had been attacked by a dog or dogs and needed medical attention. Our partner in TN, Maringa Animal Sanctuary, stepped in to make sure Bowie was safe and could recover. After spending some time at Maringa, Bowie traveled north to Jax's so he could find his forever home. Bowie is fully recovered. A little about Bowie...he's a petite yellow lab mix, weighing in at just 21#. We expect him to be about 30-35# full grown. Bowie's favorite activities are getting belly rubs and giving kisses! He follows his people everywhere! He tries to make friends with dogs he meets but can get scared if they're too rough with him. When that happens, he always finds his people to 'protect' him. He's respectful with the dogs he meets. Bowie just wants to feel safe and who can blame him after what happened to him in his early days. So if you're looking for someone who will sit beside you and let you rub his belly or scratch his ears, Bowie's your pup! Bowie is crate trained but I'm sure he'd love to snuggle in bed if that's what you want. Ideally, Bowie would do best in a home with no dogs, or kind and gentle dogs. He does like to play but has to trust that the dogs he's playing with won't hurt him.
