About Harley

This 7-year-old boy was found with 16 other Chiuahuahs in a hoarder trailer after the owner passed away unexpectedly. They had all been trapped by our foster in the south, that took them all into her home to care for them until they were ready to come to NJ. They all got very well together until some of the siblings attacked Harley. We tried to understand the reason but couldn't come up with anything. All the pups arrived safely in NJ and found homes, Harley, the poor boy, wasn't hurt physically except for a few little booboos, but he was emotionally wrecked. He went to our wonderful foster, who reported that he didn't want to leave his crate. He spent long weeks in there. No interaction with the other little pups in the house or with humans. And then, one day, he got enough courage to step out of the crate, still staying in the same room but out of the crate!!! From that point, we started seeing small weekly improvements. He will need a very loving and patient home to go to. Best with no other animals. He's a little slow to trust, but that makes it even more special when you earn his love. Harley would prefer to be alone but likes some attention. He does not like to go outside. He sleeps in his bed with his blankets and uses pee pads. He likes belly rubs, but he is not a lap dog. Very happy tail wag when getting attention. Harley is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for his forever family.
