About Duke

Meet one of the most gentle, sweetest souls we've ever met...Duke! Duke actually found himself dumped and fending for himself in Rock Hill, SC. Being scared and confused, he avoided people and no one seemed to care. Luckily for Duke, his guardian angel spotted him and made it her goal to befriend him, catch him and get him to safety. Lauren befriended him by regularly showing up where he was hanging out to feed him. Over time she earned his trust and was able to catch him. What a selfless act of dedication and love by Lauren! He found his way to us and has been doing great, learning that he is safe and loved and can actually trust all humans He is a very smart, funny, goofy boy and truly has the sweetest disposition. Duke is a 1 year old, lab/hound mix, about 65 pounds, fully vetted, crate trained, housebroken, walks great on a leash and loves other dogs! He is gentle and loving and would do great in a family with older kids. He is still a bit shy but comes around quickly. We are requiring a fenced yard for him as he loves to run and play.
