About Clancey

Adoption Fee: $345
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Available for foster to adopt in Vermont Meet Clancy! He is a 1 1/2-2yr old, 40lb cattle dog-blue heeler, rescued from the streets of Oklahoma. Clancy's dad and four siblings came to Vermont this summer as shy, nervous pups who didn't yet know the joy of family life. While some of his siblings have blossomed, Clancy struggles to find himself in the crowd. He gets along with the 4 other dogs in his foster home, but often retreats to a quiet spot when things get too exciting. He tolerates the children in his foster home, but their loud voices and fast movements cause him to slink away to a safe place. We feel Clancy needs a quiet home with a steady routine that he can learn from and take comfort in knowing what happens next. He loves one on one attention so we feel could do well as an only dog, or be ok with another quiet, friendly dog. He seems to try to assert dominance over the other dogs, especially when he's having human-petting time, so the other dog in the home should be docile and submissive. Cats won't be a problem. He would love a home where his person is home a lot, as he doesn't like being alone. Clancy is potty trained, though does pee a bit when he's scared (submissive peeing). He is neutered and UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative. This sweet boy needs a patient, loving family or single person to help him come out of his shell. He needs some work but you won't regret investing that time & love into him. If sweet Clancy sounds like a great fit for your family, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. There is an additional $150 transport fee which is part of what was paid to transport this dog from Oklahoma to New England.
