About Maximus

My husband and I have come into an unfortunate situation. We were forced to relocate, do to our rental property being sold. So we had to move in with family. This has caused us to rethink our situation a little. We have a German Shepherd/PitBull mix, and we've decided that in our current living arrangement, it would be best for not only us, but for our dog (Max) as well. We have came to the conclusion that living in such a close home-to-home neighborhood, he wouldn't have as much space as he used to at our old home. Also the family we are staying with has a small child, and three very small dogs. He hasn't been exposed to children or small dog breeds to much. He has never been an aggresive dog though. We board him, and he seems to get along with the other bigger dogs just fine. We just don't want to throw him into a uncomfortable situation out of the blue. We also don't want to confine him to a lead in a small fenced off area. We want him to be someone who can care for him. Someone who has a big enough yard, time, patience, experience, history with raising bigger dogs, and a genuine dog lover. He is a very sweet, loving dog. He knows basic commands like sit, lay down, roll over, paw, spin, stay. He is house and crate trained. He is utd on all shots(including Bordetella), neutered, and microchipped. He is only four 1/2 years old and is very energetic, and loves to play ball. He has been raised in the country, so he isn't used to being around a lot of people. So, he gets nervous around anyone new, but after some pets and a little loving he warms up pretty fast. We really care for him, and we aren't willing to give him to just anyone.
