About Solo

Solo is a 4 year old Dogo Argentino who came into the shelter as a stray on 6/4/22. We discovered soon after that he's deaf! He's very sweet and friendly though. He weighs 106 lbs. They say when you lose one of your senses the other ones become heightened to compensate. Well Solo here is deaf, and he seems to have kicked his adorablness into overdrive to make up for it! Come and meet him and you'd probably be too busy loving on him to notice he can't hear you. Go ahead and tell him what a handsome boy he is anyways - he'll get the sentiment even if he can't actually hear the words. He originally came into the shelter as a stray on 6/4/22. He spent some time in a loving foster home where they helped him pack on a few much needed pounds. Now he's looking better than ever! They started working with him on learning hand signs for his basic commands. He picked up sitting, staying, and coming on command really quickly! Solo also got along great with all the kids in the family - even the young ones! He's very sweet and gentle with people, despite his size and strength. He does, however, have a high prey drive. So life on a farm would not be his best fit!
