About Pepper

Pepper is 3 1/2 year old Pit Bull Mix. She is a great dog. Due to her reactivity with other dogs, including our older dog, and my mom's poor physical health, I have made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her. Pepper is house-trained, leash-trained, and knows many commands. She walks well on her leash, and just needs to be directed if she sees another dog. She is eager to please, lovable, incredibly smart, and extremely food motivated especially for cheese or milkbones from the UPS delivery driver. She loves going for walks and could run for days and would be the perfect hiking buddy or running companion. Pepper gets extremely proud of herself when she's accomplished a task or listened to a command. Pepper loves going for Sunday car rides and stopping for a pup cup. She was born in December but you wouldn't know it as she loves the warm sunshine and to lay outside and sunbathe. She is a fair-weather four-legged friend as she doesn't like the rain and hesitantly, will go outside or quickly run back in. Pepper loves to curl up next to you and follow you around wherever you go. She doesn't like her nose being cold. I often turn on the heating pad on low for her just for her to feel cozy. You can also find her under the covers and blankets as it's one of her favorite places to be. She gets sleepy around 9:30pm/10:00pm, and her ears start to flop out to the side which I affectionately call her 'airplane mode'. Pepper would thrive in a lovable home with a family with no other dogs or pets, a male presence, and with no or older children. I think she would be the perfect companion for a man as she seems to respond really well to my Step-Dad. Backyards and frequent walks, in a suburban or rural environment where she can play and run, would be ideal for her. I'm searching for a potential adopter who would be patient with her, attentive to her, and provide her with all the resources that she needs to flourish. A more experienced dog owner or is familiar with the nuances of her breed (64.6% American Pit Bull, 21.3% American Staffordshire Terrier, and 14.1% American Bulldog - from Embark DNA).
