About Oreo

URGENT February 22nd Oreo needs a foster or adopter urgently as he is suffering from shelter stress & fatigue��%BD'��%BD|.Meet sweetheart Oreo! Oreo is looking for his forever home. He was brought to the shelter as a stray, so his history is a mystery! Oreo is a very loving, affectionate, velcro dog. He wants to be with his people, but does not have separation anxiety. As he bonds with his people he may become more protective of them He is kennel trained, house trained, and learning to walk well on a leash. Oreo is smart and knows several commands including Sit/Stay * Leave it * Wait (before feedings) * Take it * Go to bed. He's very food motivated, trainable and wants to learn new things. Pieces of cheese work great for keeping him focused. He prefers sharp cheddar!! Oreo enjoys walks, and would make a great running and/ or hiking partner. He is dog selective, meaning he does ok with some dogs. Oreo is crazy about water and will fetch a stick in the river all day! He doesn't really fetch, unless it's in the water. He not that interested in most toys. He seems to need puzzle games or kongs to keep him busy. Bully sticks don't last long and he'll destroy a squeak toy in seconds! Oreo does resource guard, and would do best as an only pet. No cats! This little guy LOVES people. It's suggested a home with children over 8 would be best, due to Oreo's resource guarding behavior (with food, toys). His recent fosters say of him 'Oreo's strongest trait is he loves his humans the most and only wants your attention in return. He deserves a fun, active lifestyle with no other competition in the home. In that environment, he's going to thrive and be someone's perfect dog!'
