LOCATION: Lancaster, Pennsylvania AGE/DOB: 11/15/2021 MAGNIFICENT - impressively beautiful APPRECIATIVE - showing gratitude GRACEFUL - having elegance GOOFY - silly INTELLIGENT - smart ENCHANTING - delightfully charming These words put together make up our MAGGIE. She is an amazing girl! In her short life she has faced quite a few obstacles. Her owner became homeless, and she ended up in a shelter in Maryland. She had a large lump on her neck that was drained while in the shelter. The vet there believed the lump would return without surgery. Her foster mom went to get her from the shelter and brought her to PA where a new vet did 2 separate procedures, placing drains in her neck, trying to help manage the fluid build-up. Sadly, these procedures did not help. Because she had a blocked salivary gland, she ultimately needed a delicate surgery to have the glands removed on her right side. A very kind veterinary surgeon stepped in. She was just the angel that Maggie needed. Maggie has since had the surgery and has recovered! She is now able to move on to the new life she so deserves'|. a normal, pain free life! Yay for Maggie!! It's time for her to be adopted! Maggie is scared of people when first introduced. She needs to have people around her frequently to form a bond with them. An occasional meeting for her is like meeting for the first time EACH time. Although she has slowly made some progression with friends and neighbors that have met her, she will need ongoing effort and encouragement to continue to improve with consistent introductions and repetition with meeting people. You must remember that she is still a puppy and has been through many changes in such a short time. She does well on a leash with a harness attachment. She will pull and shy away if she is made to walk near a lot of people'|but again, that is improving. She is not aggressive at all with people, just shy and will run to a quiet corner if overly fearful. Because of her fearfulness, she would do best with a fenced yard. She gets along with dogs both big and small. She can be nudgy and overly playful with smaller dogs. She currently has a Dane and 2 Chihuahua foster siblings. She has not had exposure to cats so unsure how she would do. She is a sloppy drinker. Many Danes are. That may or may not improve. She loves to play and loves to get and give snuggles. She loves all types of toys. Anything on the floor is fair game so put your shoes away! She is good in the car. She is crate trained and will go in when told AND for cheese. With dogs she is neither food nor toy aggressive. She will cunningly steal a toy from another dog and run away playfully. She is very loving. She will wrap her paws around your whole body and press her head against you so gently as if to say thank you for loving me. Although you may think you'd prefer a pure Dane over a Dane mix, consider Maggie a tea-cup Dane. She is slightly smaller and much easier to manage but comes with most of the same beloved traits. How can you look at her pictures and not fall head over heels? How can you read about her past and not want to offer her a happier future? She is ready to be your best friend and brighten up your days with love, loyalty, and drool. After all the challenges this girl has had to overcome, are you ready to be her EVERYTHING!? Bet you just might be!. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 =========================
