About Miles

Lab / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This handsome lab/boxer mix boy named Miles was unfortunately returned to our rescue after being adopted at 8 weeks old. Now 2.5 years later he was returned for killing a goat and a cat. Miles' behavior appeared out of character for him and the family took him to the vet to check his health wise. The vet stated Miles was healthy with no apparent reason for his character change. The vet suggested Miles go through some training, but the family decided it was easier to relinquish him back to our rescue vice paying for training they could not afford. Miles at first was confused and a little scared when he first arrived. So, we gave him space and time to adjust and he has not disappoint since. He is a love and your best friend - loyal true to core. We have not witnessed any of Miles's shortcomings, but we are not on a farm like he used to be. Miles is dog friendly and people friendly too. However, he was raised with toddlers, and was said, he does well with them too. We recommend Miles to be in a home that has structure and good knowledge of dogs. Miles would thrive with a low-key family that does daily walks or car rides with him. He is such a love too. *** Note from his previous family who writes: **** 'He is a big teddy bear and loves to cuddle and jump up (gently) for hugs. He has grown up around toddlers and young kids. He does not do well with cats, but gets along perfectly with other dogs! A few of his favorite things are his Kong filled with peanut butter, running and playing in the yard, swimming, and car rides. He knows basic commands, such as sit and paw, but does need some more leash training. He has some anxiety and behavioral issues that need some attention and training to correct. He needs a home to provide a safe space when he needs it. We feel he would do best in a low-energy environment.
