About Velma

Velma is a happy girl and isn't too shy to share kisses with you. She can be a bit of a talker so be prepared for a little chatter box. She prefers to be near you but not necessarily on you. She loves attention and allowing you plenty of time to give her lots of pets and snuggles. She loves being with her person. Velma doesn't just run up to strangers; she needs a little time to get to know them as she is a bit shy at first. She, also, is not a fan of dog parks so let's not take her there. When meeting new dogs, in general, she needs some time to get to know them before they are buddies. A home (no apartment or condo life) with a solid fenced in yard is what this girl is looking for; Velma is not yet leash trained and pulls when walking. This is something her foster family is begining to work with her on and her new family can definitely continue to work to reinforce with positive training. She is already house and crate trained which is always a little bonus. Velma sleeps in her crate. She goes outside 4-5 days for potty breaks and a little fun. When outside, she wants her people to be outside with her. Velma does have a few 'habits' and can be greedy with her food, treats and toys. She will resource guard these things, so her family will need to be aware of this and know how to properly work with her on these behaviours. Velma can live in a home with dog-savvy cats but sorry no children, just not their thing. Velma is good with submissive dogs and will need to be adopted into a family with other furry, friendly four-legged family members. Velma, Chihuahua mix and DOB 06/29/2020.
