About Saving Gemma

Gemma (on the right) and her friend Chase loves to play with the 3 dogs we have at home- She loves to run so if you like it she is your girl!!! Gemma is going through a 5 weeks board and train program. She is learning some new social skills. This is a note from her trainer: Gemma is a very sweet girl and is eager to please. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is friendly with other dogs and loves to play. Gemma has been enrolled in obedience training with Paw & Order Dog Training with trainer Lucas Harper. Her new owners will need to reinforce her new skills when she arrives at her new forever home. Gemma is very treat motivated and she is learning wait at the door, place, down, down at a distance, recall, and heel. Gemma is also working on her confidence when meeting new people and being in noisy places while out in public. When at home, Gemma loves having time to run out in the yard and in the evening, becomes a big snuggle bug on the couch. GEMMA has been with us at our house for the past few months and I have to say she is the most lovable dog I have had for a very long time. We would love to find her a home with an other dog. She does good with puppies male and female as well. She is shy with people at first. Gemma is only 11 months old and was brought to the shelter after her owner was moving- When she arrived there she was ok in the arms of her owner but when she realized she was going to a scary place she lost it and could not handle it. She stayed 2 weeks in her kennel petrified and barking in despair. When I went to see her it was so sad to see her yapping, it was like she was in pain with one paw up. She was going to be put down and I am so glad I saw her that day. There was something about Gemma. We tracked down her former owner and they sent me pictures and I could see she had potential. I have her in my house with my 3 other dogs and she is a good girl. She would attach very easily. She will need some time to adapt to all the people in the house. Need a fenced yard. Gemma loves to explore and loves to chase balls. She sleeps in the crate at night only, during the day she is with my pack and goes in and out of the house to the yard and goes potty there.
