About MJ

Mary Jane (MJ) is looking for her forever home. She is a 9lbs spayed/female chi mix approx 2 years old that was picked up in New Mexico. She is current on all core vaccines and microchipped. MJ is a bit bashful and cautious at first, but is quick to warm up to women and will take a couple of days to warm up to men. All that means is she will be sitting on some laps right way and others longer. She warmed up to her foster's husband in about 2 days, taking treats and sitting with him on the couch. She is well mannered and sweet. She loves to spin around in joy when it is time to eat or go outside. MJ also has the cutest ears! As a lady, she likes to change up her look, depending on the mood. Sometimes they are both up, sometimes they are floppy and sometimes it's one up and one down. All looks are 100% adorable. She loves the backyard, running around and rolling in the grass with the other dogs in the house. She is not a barker! Once she gets to know you and knows you're not going to hurt her, she will greet you with a full body wag and want nothing more than to cuddle. She also like to steal kisses, you have been warned. More than anything, she needs a calm, quiet and loving environment. MJ goes in her crate when fosters are at work during the day and has been left free roam for short periods of time. She is house broken and has not had any accidents in the house. MJ has been enjoying short walks in a harness around the neighborhood. She likes going on walks with the foster's dogs and will go on solo walks as well. Her other dog friends give her the extra confidence as a lot of this is new for her. Foster's place food bowls several feet apart and she eats her meals and leaves the other dogs alone if they aren't done yet. She also takes treats politely from your hand. She'd do best with older kids, if any. She's learning to play with toys; although, jumping around with other dogs is her favorite pastime so we'll give preference to a home with another small playful dog.
