SENIOR ALERT... 11 YR OLD FEMALE, SMALLER CHOW/LAB MIX IN CHULA VISTA, CA BERTHA ID A236509 - Please help us find a good home for BERTHA who is described as a cat friendly, spayed female chow and lab looking mix who weighs only 44 lbs. Bertha has been waiting at the Chula Vista shelter for a loving home since March, and was thankful to be in a short term foster home where she never had an accident and got along nicely with a smaller, female dog. At the shelter, Bertha greets nicely at kennel front, allows leashing with slight hesitation and exits. Walks well on leash. They just updated her bio with a few more details: 'I'm a sweet girl just looking for the right family to swoop me out of here. As time went on in the beginning I wasn't too fond of meeting new people, prefered to keep to myself but as staff kept talking to me and treating me nicely I realized maybe people aren't so bad? I do enjoy to come up and ask for some nice gentle pets and just sit right in front of you. One thing though is I love toys!! So much, especially squeaky toys. Although, if you need them back I would recommend providing me something just as fun to play with. I do enjoy the presence of other dogs. Just hanging out with and being around something familiar to me, and with cats I can camly meet them, greet them and hang with them too! So I seem like an animal type of dog honestly. Now basically, I am looking for a calmer home of all ages, looking to invite me into their home to make me part of their pack. I hope to meet you soon.
