About Tanner

Tanner is a cute Silky Terrier, a lap dog, 10 lbs and is very loving. Tanner was an acquaintance's mom's dog who had Tanner plus a Yorkie, who could only keep one dog and asked us to try Tanner. We were told he was 7 years old, potty and crate trained, however the training was incorrect. Tanner is now willing to go into the crate and does not cry, but he does not choose to go into the crate on his own time. His potty training has improved, but he will still has periodic accidents. Tanner does show signs of anxiety by grabbing a toy in his mouth, stiffen up and not let go. Tanner is not food motivated in training him to let go of his toys. If he is growling with his toy, we just let him be and he will sit there stiffened/frozen for a long time, if we take him outside he will let go of the toy and return happy. Tanner ignores our older Chihuahua, he does not play with her. Tanner will let you brush him, but has anxiety if you try to clip his nails or cut his hair. He is up to date on his shots. Tanner is a sweet and cuddly dog, he probably just needs someone home with him during the day instead of us being gone all day, he will follow you wherever you go and want to be with you at all times.
