About Josie

Say hello to Josie! Josie is a mixed breed dog who is about one year old and currently weighs 37 pounds. She is an active, happy puppy who wants to play with every dog she sees! She loves people and toys and treats and all the good things that make dogs happy! Josie came to us from a shelter that likes to euthanize dogs too much! She is has quickly learned lots of good manners in her foster home! She is crate trained and has good indoor behavior when supervised. She is still being house trained. It is coming along well but she will need an owner willing to continue that training. Josie has meet a cat and was very scared of it , so she may be able to live with cats given slow, supervised introductions. Josie is exactly the kind of dog that we are proud to say we saved! She is going to make a wonderful, playful, happy companion for one very lucky family! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
