About Frankie

This cutie is Frankie, a 2-year-old, 50 pound Pit Bull Mix. Frankie is a happy, social girl who loves to get out-and-about and meet new people. She is used to going for a walk every day and looks forward to it. Frankie dances when you grab her leash and get ready to go. This girl has quite a few skills on board. She knows how to sit and lay down and is working on the place and stay commands. Frankie loves training time and is eager to learn. She is motivated by both food and affection, so she is a joy to train. After Frankie has had her exercise, she turns into a couch potato snoring at your feed or cuddled with you in bed. Frankie does well with other dogs her size, she has really good social skills and just wants to play. She currently lives with 4 smaller dogs. Because Frankie is a bully breed, her forever home should have only male dogs or non-bully breed females. Frankie's hobbies include playing in her baby pool (she loves splashing around in water), bird watching and chasing in her yard (she has a strong prey drive). Because Frankie chases birds, we think she would probably view a cat as a squeaky toy, so Frankie should not live in a home with cats. Another of Frankie's hobbies is running. She runs about 2 miles most mornings with her foster dad Frankie is looking for a home with a physically fenced yard so she can safely run and play. She would like an active family with the time to continue working with her. We think she would really love agility training. Frankie was originally adopted from the Nashville, Tennessee shelter. Frankie's foster parent's daughter lives there and she was Frankie's original adopter. She already had another female bully breed at home and as Frankie started to mature, the two females simply could not get along. So Frankie came to Iowa where she can safely live until she finds her forever home. Frankie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
