About Sparkles

Sparkles is a 1-2 year old, bluetick coonhound who weighs 50 pounds. We can't believe why her owner didn't claim Sparkles after she was found and taken to a rural shelter. She's a very good girl and her foster mom sings her praises. Shy and kind, Sparkles thrives on attention and belly rubs. She's well mannered and polite and gets along well with the other dog in her foster home! Sparkles is looking for a family who will adore her and treat her like the priness she is! She would be happiest in a home with another dog for her to play with. We think Sparkles would get along just fine with kids and may even be able to live with cat given proper introductions. Blueticks Coonhounds are beautiful dogs and Sparkles is no exception! She's ready to join your family and be your friend for years to come! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
