About Oakley

We are looking to surrender/rehome our 3 year old male German shepherd. We rescued him from a shelter 2 years ago, where he had a bite history there. He was previously abused before going to that shelter. He has done well with us until last summer. He nipped at our friend. That friend allowed the dog to sniff him and the dog allowed him to pet him, but as soon as he got up too fast he nipped at him. There are a few people in our family he does really well with and others he is just scared of. Now that we have a child we fear that something can happen since he always barks and growls at young children. He is a great dog when he finds someone to trust. Loves car rides, cuddles in bed and adventures. Is good with most big and little dogs. He truly is not a bad dog! He just needs a owner that knows the breed and give him time to trust them. Once he trusts, he is the best companion.
