About KATORI

KATORI is a very special senior German Shepherd at our Shelter that has been with us over a year now. Unfortunately, with her advanced age (11-yrs. old) she tends to get overlooked. However, for someone who is more interested in a low-activity companion, KATORI would fit right in. She loves to go on short, leisurely leash walks and is quite content just hanging with her person. She's not much of a snuggler, but she loves to be close to her person. She doesn't ask for much... just your love. KATORI is selective with who she trusts so she's not an option for families with young children who will want to play with her. It can typically take a few visits with her so she can get to know you at her own pace and learn that she can trust you. But it's time well spent because once that level of trust in achieved, you'll see the softer side of her that we all see of her here. This senior girl just wants a peaceful environment where she can let her guard down and relax. KATORI did live with cats in her previous home, and she has been leash walked alongside other dogs here with no issues, but we're not sure how she'd react off leash. A dog intro would be required. Ideally another dog who is low energy. She has no health issues that we're aware of except for some hair loss on a section of her back and tail. She's spayed and just recently had a dental. She's really quite beautiful, even with her patchy coat. We believe a less stressful environment is what this girl needs to thrive.
