About Roscoe

Roscoe P. Coltrane is a 5-year-old, full-blooded Australian Shepherd. He was born in Schertz, TX and we raised him in San Antonio, TX. Roscoe is house-trained and a very active pup, will sit, lay down and go to his bed on command. Unfortunately, we moved from a house with a backyard and a dog door, which Roscoe loved, to an apartment and now we are headed to a smaller apartment in Washington, D.C. He doesn't get out as much and since Roscoe is so active, we need someone to adopt him that has room for him to run and if possible, a companion to play with. We love Roscoe and would keep him, but our next duty station wouldn't be conducive for pets and he needs room to stretch his legs. Roscoe loves playing with big dogs but has a bit of an attitude toward small dogs. We think it has to do with all the stuffed animals we gave him when he was growing up. :/ Roscoe's a little too aggressive with smaller dogs and prefers not to be around them. He wants to run ALL the time, so he may pull a little when he's on a leash. Roscoe is more comfortable off a leash�'�|so a nice, big backyard would be GREAT!! Roscoe loves the water and will chase sticks and balls in or out of the water. �'�� He is also very affectionate, can be by himself without barking and bothering the neighbors, and loves treats. Pros: very affectionate, house-trained, quiet, kennel-trained Cons: aggressive toward small dogs; plays well with larger dogs especially off-leash
