About Mikko

Mikko is a Standard Poodle and Border Collie mix. He has long fast legs and weighs about 65 pounds. He has a strong urge to herd and control his environment. He is very 'motion sensitive' and will chase after fast moving animals and people. He is fearful of puppies and kittens due to their high energy and unpredictability. He requires constant supervision when around other dogs as he can 'snap' and initiate a fight. He has a strong desire to please his owner and/or trainer and would be excellent for dog sports such as fly ball, agility, or frisbee. He would be a good running companion. He does NOT enjoy close cuddling, hugs, or feeling crowded or smothered. He does not like to sleep in bed with humans and does not want to sit on the sofa with humans. He does enjoy standing next to the sofa for petting. He loves walks and playing fetch. He Likes Kong Toys with treats inside, and is very good at doggie puzzles and games. He should go to a home with experience raising Border Collies or other herding dogs. We are looking for a new home for Mikko due to the fact that he is constantly chasing our cats and is aggressive towards our pet chickens. Mikko would do best as an Only Pet in a household. He is fully house trained, crate trained and he rings a bell to indicate he needs to go out.
