About Whitney

I'm Whitney, a pretty and affectionate girl, who is 1 year old and weighs about 60 pounds. I'm playful and loving, once I get to know you. However, until then, I can be shy and insecure. I'm not always comfortable with hands-on touching and will sometimes whine when overhandled. I'm the type of shy dog that will need time to get to know my new family and transition into a new home. I am uncomfortable around children and the energy they can display. Therefore, I should not go to a home with children under the age of 16 and I should meet all members of the household prior to adoption. Here at the shelter, I have gotten along well with other dogs I've met in playgroups. However, like with people, I need time to get to know the dogs. Once I understand that I am safe, then I have lots of fun playing with my new friends. I would like to meet any new dogs in my next home, prior to adoption, to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $150, plus $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson County.
