About Amber

Amber is about 2 yo. and a little bit over 50 lbs. which makes her a more petite shepherd. Amber is friendly with people and loves other dogs of all sizes. We think she'd thrive with another energetic and playful dog as she very much enjoys their company. She does excellent with our large pack. We also think she'd be well suited for a home with respectful children. However, she needs a calm home environment as she does not do well with chaotic or anxious energy. We have tested Amber with cats and she's curious but is easily redirected. The home that adopts her will need to provide leadership in all areas and we're confident she will then be able to coexist with cats as well. Amber walks well on leash with a confident handler. She's crate and potty trained and knows advanced obedience with a handler who can enforce commands and hold her accountable. Amber excelled in her training with us. She easily did a down stay in front of Walmart with our guidance and leadership, ignoring everything around her. Continued 'place' work will be a game changer for this girl and will contribute to her success. Her success will be up to her handler so she absolutely needs a calm and confident handler who enjoys the working dog characteristics. She loves her ball, and would thrive with someone who can satisfy her natural instinct to work. Amber needs structure, rules, and boundaries and will not do well in a home that isn't willing to provide that. She'll be the perfect dog for a more experienced working dog owner.
