About SNOWY

SNOWY is a WHITE TURKISH ANGORA MIX with a touch of light gray on the top of his head and ears and amber eyes. He is 9 year old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped. He weighs around 12 lbs. Snowy came to SPCR from a shelter after his owner passed away. He must have been quite matted because he received a lion cut. Truth be told, the cut around his head looks more Supercuts vs Vidal Sassoon, and just for fun they left a bit of floof on the tip of his tail ;-) . You will have to look at his before pictures provided by the shelter to appreciate the lovely fur this boy will sport once it grows out. The shelter told us he is a lap cat and very playful, so there was no way we could pass on him. In his new foster home, Snowy shows himself to be a very confident, personable and friendly cat. He is constantly trying to sneak out of his foster room to explore the area and he greets foster mom with head-butts. He is easy to pick up and a genuinely lovely, though assertive, boy. The second day his foster mom entered the room, he jumped up on her lap and sat there for quite some time enjoying the rubs and love she provided. During the evening routine of watching TV, Snowy hangs out with his foster mom and spends a good amount of time on her lap for pets and extra loving. At the shelter it was determined that Snowy does not get along with other cats due to his somewhat domineering personality (and he might have been a single cat with his former owner). Snowy's foster mom therefore has not attempted to introduce him to her own kitties. She also feels that a mature kitty's wishes and preferences should be respected, and with his human focused personality he certainly doesn't need any competition. According to the shelter, he has interacted with dogs and did well, so a home with a dog who just can't live without having a kitty companion should work well for him. His foster mom feels he would do well with older, cat savvy children. Snowy uses his litter box appropriately. He loves both wet and dry food, and since wet food is so important for proper hydration, we would like to find him a home where he will receive it on a daily basis. He also had a dental at the shelter so he will come to you with a sparkling smile. This engaging boy is spry, loving and deserves a permanent home where someone will appreciate just how special he is.
