About Colonel Kurtz

Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Colonel Kurtz had been in Fight Club for most of his life. When he got tired of getting beat up he found a family who took his shabby, scabby self off the streets and brought him to us. He was so terrified he was trembling and panting. We put a Calming Collar on him, put him in a cage with a warm bed and some yummy canned food (he was STARVING!), and he settled in for the night. He really likes human attention but can be nervous and reactive to other cats. For a time he didn't have any desire to get out of his cage at the Rescue to socialize with the others. But recently Colonel Kurtz has become fairly social, hanging out in the front lobby on the couch, and washing kittens. He is fine with other cats if they don't hassle him. He used to be extremely reactive to dogs in the building, but now he keeps space between himself and a dog, but stays close enough to observe. He'll need a family who understands that at first he'll need time to settle in and become comfortable, but then he really enjoys being petted and brushed. We don't know how quickly he would take to being a lap cat, but the potential is there! In a home, cats tend to eventually blossom into comfortable, confident housemates. Colonel Kurtz is neutered, dewormed, de-flea'd, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to meet this quiet, sweet boy please submit an online adoption application on our website www.littleorphansanimalrescue.org. Give our Adoption Team 2-5 days to process the info and you will be contacted by phone or email for the next step.
