About CHUCK

Meet Chuck! He is a 7 year old, 9.7 pound Chihuahua who came to us as an owner surrender due to house training issues. But we found that any house training issues are due to separation anxiety. Chuck does great when he has a person with him, but has anxiety and accidents when left. His ideal home will be with someone who can be home with him most of the time. He is not be a dog who will do well left alone for long hours. He is a wonderful little guy who will bond to a new person quickly. He will need a person to work with him, leaving for short periods of time and gradually increasing the time until he adjusts and becomes comfortable being left. This can be done with patience and love. Overall Chuck is very happy and lovable, and loves to be with his person, preferably cuddling! He is a sweetheart and loves everybody he meets and he's looking for the perfect lap! Chuck gets along well with other dogs and would love to have a doggie companion in his new home. We do not know how he would be with cats or kids, but think he would be fine with older kids who are familiar with small dogs. Chuck likes exploring the yard and enjoys being outside. He is housebroken, but may have tummy issues when left alone the first few times till he adjusts to your schedule and routine. We have found that adjusting his feeding schedule and making sure he goes outside on routine greatly helps with this. At night he will curl up to sleep with the other dogs in his foster home, or he will snuggle up with his people. Chuck has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month pro heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
