About SADIE AND LEO

Meet Sadie and her brother from another mother, Leo! Puffball Sadie is a 2 year old, 12.6 pound Bichon, and adorable Leo is a 13 year old, 8 pound Papillon. They are a bonded pair who came to us after their owner passed away, and no one in the family could keep them. They love each other and play, wrestle, cuddle, and sleep together. Whether on a chair, or the couch, and sometimes under the bed (a favorite sleeping spot) they are together. Leo likes to bounce around on the furniture and try to get Sadie to play with him. She will oblige and they will have a good time romping, rest for 5 minutes and start all over again. Do not be put off by this dog's age! Leo does not look or act even close to it and we had a hard time believing he was 13! Papillons do have a nice long life span and he has been very well cared for. Sadie and Leo are very affectionate, give kisses, love being in a lap, and enjoy belly rubs! Sadie loves to be loved on, while Leo is a little more shy than Sadie, but that could be because he is hard of hearing. They are both very friendly with all people and most small dogs. A home with older children would be ok, but no little kids due to Leo's age and size. Their prior home had cats in it and they were fine with them. They walk well on a leash and Sadie knows how to use a doggy door. She will go to the back door to tell you she needs to go out. If you are not home, she will also use a pee pad. Leo is pretty good with his housebreaking but needs a little work. His foster mom has been using a belly band to help with this. Their foster mom believes that they should have a home with a fenced yard, mostly because of Leo's shyness. He sometimes will not come to you when he should! They like being outside doing zoomies in the yard and both love riding in the car. At night they like to sleep on the sofa together, or curled up in a chair with each other. Sadie and Leo have been to the vet for a wellness check, or up-to-date on shots, spayed/ neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, have had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. Note: They are bonded and we will not be separating them. They must be adopted together. Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
