About PIPER

Meet pretty Piper, the perfect playful puppy! Piper is a terrier mix, approximately 1 year old, who weighs 18 pounds. She was originally found as a stray several months ago and, after quite some time trying to locate an owner, the finder reached out to us for help. Piper was scared when she first came in and it took her a couple of days to feel safe, but once she did her personality began to shine! She is still timid when she meets new people and will need a minute to feel comfortable, but then she will happily show you her snuggly side. She is very loving and friendly and loves to be on a lap or curled up by her person. Piper is super curious, loves to chase tennis balls, and plays well with kids and other dogs. We were told that she gets along just fine with cats. Piper is very smart and likes to please her person. She enjoys praise and hearing that she is a good girl! She is potty trained and learned to use the doggy door at foster grandma's house within a few minutes just from observing the other dogs. She knows how to sit, responds well to her name, walks on a leash, and enjoys golf cart rides around the neighborhood. She enjoys playing outside and would love a fenced backyard to run around in, but is also happy to go on leashed walks with her human! She is well behaved in the home while foster mom works during the day. Piper sleeps in the big bed at night and occasionally steals shoes - which she brings to bed with her other toys! This little pup has a big personality and lots of love to give in return! She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal and heartworm tested, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review. This does not obligate you to adopt a dog. *Unfortunately we are unable to personally respond to every application.
