About Ruby

Ruby is 1/2 Pekingese too. She has just been rescued from a kill shelter in Oklahoma and her owner abandoned her after having her since she was a puppy. She needs loyalty, lots of cuddles, and playful owners. Ruby would do best as part of a busy household with kids or playful humans-or active owner who hikes, bikes, camps. She is 4 and has no health issues. She is active and loves to play, run, hike, and camp, and go for car rides. She has a wonderful 'big' dog bark but is small to medium size at 32 lb. She is very healthy, not over weight, has shiny fur, doesn't shed, and loves baths. She is micro-chipped with a free service. She plays well with other dogs, especially big ones.'She is so sweet,' is what I hear all the time I take her to the dog parks near me and has a fun and play hard disposition. She is calm at home and barks at strangers although her tail is wagging fast. She likes to cuddle up to humans a couple times a day, especially in the morning. She puts her nuzzle under your chin and is very loyal. She is gentle with kids and runs from them, trying to play and has never harmed them. Ruby was the favorite at the shelter and the handlers were in tears knowing she had escaped euthanizing. They told me that I had rescued a good one. She eats Pedigree dog food, nothing special, and loves to drink water as it's being poured. She was left at the shelter by her only owner because they lost their housing, in Oklahoma. She obeys well off leash unless there is a squirrel or bunny spotted! She bonds well with others and needs to be re-homed, unfortunately. I really like this dog and if you need a lively, happy, loving dog, this is your best choice.
