About LILY

Introducing tiny Lily! Lily is 5 year old, 3.6 pound adorable Chihuahua. She was owned by a homeless person who ran into some trouble and was no longer able to keep her. She was then surrendered to a shelter. Luckily someone got her out of the shelter and contacted us for help. Lily is a little shy but very sweet and lovable. She loves snuggling up on the couch or in a dog bed and sleeps curled up near you in bed. She is generally a quiet little dog but will alert you to a stranger. Lily is friendly and would be good with another small friendly dog. She would also be great as an only dog! She has not been tested with cats or kids. We don't think she would have a problem with most cats, but kids are not suitable due to her size. Lily does well with her house breaking although she may need a little time to adjust to a new home and routine. As tiny as Lily is she absolutely must be supervised at all times outside! Her foster mom has a fenced yard and we have not tried her on a leash yet. She has been a little picky with her food. Based on what we know of her history we are guessing she was on a diet of mostly people food. Her foster mom has her on Hills Small Paws Science Diet and she will eat that. She's not a big eater, and is fed away from other dogs in her foster home so they don't come and steal her food. Lily's back legs are permanently luxated and she has a funny little walk. That just means that she's not going to be a super playful little dog, she just needs to be somebody's little lap pup! She likely will develop some arthritis in her back legs as she gets older. Lily has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue. Lily is precious and will be a fabulous companion for some lucky person! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
