About Timmy

Adoption Fee: $450
Yorkie
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Timmy is 8 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He is being fostered in Vero Beach, FL. Updated Bio 6/15/2022: Timmy came to United Yorkie Rescue through no fault of his own. He has been with the same family all of his life and has been a good boy. Unfortunately, the new baby of the family has allergies and one of them is dogs! But despite the transition, Timmy is doing great. He has become stronger and has gained more confidence. He continues to be funny, sweet, and smart. His favorite things are to eat, play with his toys. Timmy especially enjoys his puzzle toys and lick mats. Above all, Timmy loves to be with his people. He will lay next to you as long as he is touching you. He loves his belly rubbed. He still likes his walks, but only in a quiet area. If he hears something he isn't familiar with he will pull to go home. Timmy used to constantly lick his feet, he is getting better, but we think it's a habit from boredom or anxiety versus allergies. Timmy would love a fenced yard, but it isn't necessary unless there is a pool. Timmy will jump in the pool, so it must be fenced. It takes him time to warm up to other dogs. He has found a few dog friends but prefers people. Timmy doesn't like other dogs in the house, so he will need to be the only dog. We don't know about cats for sure, he did meet our neighbor's cat and just ignored it. Because Timmy had been an inside dog only, he is more like a puppy than an 8-year-old dog when outside. Licking and chewing on most things has got him into a bit of trouble. He had a bout of pancreatitis but is completely over it now. Timmy needs close supervision while outside. Timmy still prefers to use his potty pads and doesn't miss. Occasionally he will pee pee outside but like to come back to his pad. When Timmy had his wellness check, it was discovered that he had some swollen glands. He had a course of antibiotics. Then he went through some other testing to rule out lymphoma. That has been done and Timmy is fine. He had his dental this week and is ready for his forever home. There were children in his former home and we think he would love another home with older children. They must be over 10 years old. Timmy prefers not to be alone for long, so someone will have to be home most of the time in his new home. We honestly think Timmy is one of the best dogs we have ever had. He is a favorite for sure. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt him, will get a wonderful companion. **** Timmy's Home must have **** 1. Fenced if there is a pool- Timmy likes to swim 2. Children older than 10 3. Someone home with Timmy most of the day 4. Timmy wants to be an only dog
