About Pepperjack

Hello world! My name is Pepperjack, I have also been called Jack, PJ, and my foster mom calls me Pepper! (In some weird accent.. more like, Peppaaa!). I am up to date on my vaccinations and preventatives. I am 3 years young and fit! First, I know I am cute, I mean look at me!!! Yet, my foster mom says my adopter needs to be experienced with aussies or other herding breed. So, please checkout our website for other potential dogs if you don't have herding breed experience. Also, no kids younger than 12 yrs old. Now.. about me.. I am a red merle, I love giving kisses, and Oh! I have a TAIL! I have amazing house manners. I don't bark, I like to mind my own business and relax if you are busy, but of course, I will follow you around if you go to a different room. I do consider myself independent, but I still love cuddles, belly rubs, ear rubs, and butt rubs. I love being touched and petted by my humans and I love sleeping next to them. I respect gates, and don't mind the crate. But I obviously would rather be with you. I don't steal food off the counter or from you. I know you will give me something yummy later **aussie 'side' eye** I don't mind getting brushed. Baths and blow dryers are okay, not my favorite, but I will tolerate if I have to. I am about 60lbs and I LOVE being outside, I love running freely in the yard, sniffing around and then laying down to enjoy the weather. Please, only apply if you have a fenced yard. The more land, the bettttaaa! If you have other aussies, especially confident ones, then I would be glad to join your pack. I like to wrestle and run with other aussies. I don't do well with the shy ones, foster mom says I bully them and chase them away from her. She is working with me on that tho, but whatever, I just like to run, rough house, then lay down. I would be happy if I'm the only dog in the house and get lots of attention too. Foster mom says I would be great at sports, especially Rally and FastCAT! After all, I am an aussie, I will do anything you want to please you. My foster mom wants to see me thrive at dog sports and wants my adopter to continue teaching me new tricks! Oh, I also know my basic commands and I'm very good at acting on them. Just tell me to stay, go upstairs and come back, and I'll still be on the first floor. Okay, maybe not the same spot, but close enough. I know to wait, sit, lay down, spot, Kennel, and paw. I know yes vs no. I have also learned to ask for permission before I take my treat or food. I will look you in the eye and wait for you to tell me to go ahead and get it. I sit if I want anything. I don't mind noises, I met Ms. Shark and Mr. Roomba and ignored them. I met strangers that came over my house and ignored them. That's a lie, I went up for kisses. Car rides are fine too, I'll sleep till we get there. I don't even care about delivery trucks, I don't know why other dogs freak out. They are weird. My original owner loved me dearly, but she works with the military and has to move a lot and I would barely spend anytime with her, so I have to find a new home. I used to live with a cat, but I would chase it from time to time. I guess I don't mind a confident cat or one that doesn't try to convince me to chase it.. you know.. Foster mom is still evaluating me in different situations, but she is happy to chat about my progress. I know I will be perfect, so I am not worried, or maybe I will surprise her, who knows!
