About Herby

Here is Herb our longest resident with his new girlfriend Hope who has also been here along time and moved into my house. Herb came into another rescue because his owner passed away he was skinny and flakey and missing alot of hair due to fleas we thought he was some kind of chihuahua mix he was so scrawny BUT with some good food and TLC he grew in a BEAUTIFUL coat (that I shaved in march, huge mistake) Herb is just a pistol he loves his people and he decides who his people are and if you are not..he bites (its safe to say he keeps his circle small) Herb will bite a stranger, he will bite if he feels cornered. He will bite over his possessions. I know this is poor marketing but if I just wanted to cute dog out the door BUT I dont, I want him in a home that will help him to live his best life. The reason he hasn't been euthanized for this behavior is because he doesn't do it for us and I know that once he is settled in a home that can help him he will be fine. He is running out of time as he is a 10 year old mini aussie I am wondering if he is losing his hearing, he needs eye drops for his dry eyes. He needs a grain free diet or he will get yeasty skin and ear infections. He would be best in a home with no kids maybe quiet teens on up. He's good with female dogs his size and cats if they will tolerate him. He really just needs a human willing and wanting to take care if him, someone to be there for his needs. He is NOT a companion for the elderly because he will bite your company and he is prone to guarding his person quickly.
