About Che

Adoption Fee: $300
Border Collie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Che is a special border collie guy that is loved immensely. Due to some unforeseen pandemic related issues and his inability to manage himself at the dog park, it has become a challenge to be as active with him as is needed. As a result, his family is open to exploring if there might be an active adult or couple only home (with no plans to add more animals or kids, ever) and a fenced yard, that might be a good fit and for him to live a more fulfilled life. Due to his somewhat pushy and smart nature, he needs someone to keep him accountable. Experience with border collies/similar herding breeds or dog training would be preferable. He does have some weird border collie things he reacts to, along with border collie tendencies to herd small animals and toddlers/kids in an unsafe manner. Outside of those things, he loves to play frisbee, ball, soccer, and go running. He also knows a handful household 'jobs' (bringing shoes, take paper off the printer and bring it, shut the door, bring garbage, cuddle, bump to get attention/help instead of bark, etc.), he also does 'kisses' on hands for grounding/therapeutic reasons. He also looks both ways when crossing streets (if he is paying doing what he is supposed to be doing). He also is great at his companion job, healing off leash in the house, sitting and waiting, while person only jobs are done. There has been an effort to learn a floor keyboard but the sounds can be a bit overwhelming, multi step slower process. He also knows some tricks, such as, spin, shake, play dead, arise (from the dead), high five, and high ten. His family wouldn't classify him as high energy but he does have an active mind so can get bored easily. He does well with about an hour-two hours of activity a day (example: hour long walk/run + playing around the house). If he doesn't get enough mental or physical activity, he might starting assigning himself jobs (bringing random papers and shoes or ripping up paper or carboard). Overall, he is a really well behaved guy. He means so much to his family but they don't want this to hinder him having the option of a more fulfilled life. If you are an active person looking for a companion, please feel free to out for more information.
