About Bennett

Adoption Fee: $50
Boxer / Pit Bull

A genuinely wonderful kid in dire and urgent need of a savior..... Bennett is an absolutely amazing kid that I saved from a rescue in Ohio that was shutting down. I lived at the rescue with Bennett the entire time he was with us, and in that time I have seen nothing shy of a wonderful and extremely silly, intelligent and lovable dog in him. He has never shown an ounce of aggression toward those of us that worked at the rescue, but the longer he stayed there the more we realized that he had a terrible fear of strangers that came into the rescue. An animal behaviorist/trainer assessed him and believes Bennett was abused in his life prior to coming to the rescue because he is the perfect dog in every way, minus the fear aggression toward people he does not know and trust (and he also does not do well with cats). He is incredibly affectionate and playful, he definitely acts like a boxer when he plays. The vet believes he is between 4 and 5 years old, but it's possible he could actually be a bit younger. Bennett sure acts like a puppy! I saved Bennett from the rescue when I left because no stranger was going to be able to adopt him. Being sent to another rescue would have only made him worse and he would surely have been euthanized. Bennett is too great of a kid to let his life end so early. But even though I have worked with dogs all my life, I am no animal behaviorist and would love to find someone who would give this sweet and silly guy a second (or third) chance to be the trusting boy I know he can be. He just needs to be in the right hands. I had to move and the home and area we are living in just aren't ideal for his rehabilitation. There is a cat in the home, and we have no fence. There are always people on the streets and walking past our home all hours of the day. Bennetts world has once again changed and I know he is stressed. This dog may have trust issues but he deserves a chance to live a happy and protected life with someone who can help him. I would do anything to help this boy find the perfect person and perfect home where he can finally be secure and stable for the rest of his life. Or someone that can help Bennett regain trust in humans, then help place him in a forever home. He is such an amazing and fun kid, he needs and deserves to find happiness, stability and love.
