About TOBY

June 2022 MEET TOBY- a little Schnoodle (cross of Poodle and Schnauzer) Terrier that has had a rough life! ADR. org is looking to find TOBY the right fitting home. Since Mid-May, TOBY is living on Orcas Island, WA at the home of the founder of ADR.org TOBY is a proud senior (and they usually have all the wisdom, don't they?). His exact age is unknown but to say that he is about 10-11 cuts is realistic. He weighs about 14 lbs, was neutered, is microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He has no health issues other than appears to be lost sometimes when he cannot find you. He does not like to be left alone (he starts whining and whimpering then), nor getting startled by being just grabbed. His past must have left some mental wounds open, besides that he was handed around and adopted to the wrong people over and over again. AND he sleeps a lot during the day, then breaks for eating and wanting to get out to do his business. It would not be safe to let him off leash ADR.org assumes that TOBY came from a hoarding case or a puppy mill situation where not only the dogs lived in miserable conditions but were also randomly and without warning grabbed out of their cages He became very sensitive to high energy loaded environments (home), as he likes it slow and peaceful. TOBY is not blind but does have some cataract on both eyes which sometimes might give him a limited visibility. He LOVES his walks - and the sky is the limit- seriously. Eerytime to leash him on, he is ready to GO. Jumps like a horse but then soon slows down realizing that he is no longer a spring in the field. TOBY would accept and like the companionship of another dog he likes without any restrictions. And he is cat compatible. He lives with 4 big dogs and 2 cats as of now.
