About Hailey

Hailey is a beautiful 3 1/2 yr. old blue Australian Cattle Dog who needs a new home. She came to us 6 months ago after being an outside dog, and though we love her dearly, we are an older couple who cannot provide her with all the activity she requires. She is extremely smart and learns very quickly. Hailey loves to figure things out. For example, the first time she saw me walking on the treadmill, she jumped up on it and walked with me. Loves it. A busy dog, she loves to work in partnership with her human, and will follow me all through the house. Chasing balls and catching them in midair is her favorite activity. If we won't play, she will find another activity, like finding mice behind walls (If I put a trap where she is enthusiastically sniffing, I will catch one that night). Her favorite thing is to ride in the golf cart and when I tell her 'release', she will run around the ranch sniffing for critters, always keeping me in sight and coming instantly when I call her. If I am not paying attention, she will chase animals on the farm, but when I call her she stops immediately. She loves the water and will often swim in the pond. Hailey is house broken, e-collar trained and crate trained. Hailey has been trained by professional trainers and has instant recall. She will heel, drop at a distance, stick around, stay, and obey many other useful commands. She would make an excellent working dog such as a herding dog or search and rescue. Hailey has a dominant personality. She is loyal and protective, and will nip strangers. She gets along with other dogs if introduced slowly, but may be better suited to be an only dog. She likes to have her human to herself. Hailey is an amazing dog who deserves the right person to partner with. She needs a home with no children and no cats and a yard to run off her boundless energy.
