PLEASE READ TO THE END FOR ADOPTION INFORMATION. Introducing happy boy Finn! Finn was originally found over a year ago, tied to a pole. The people who found him took him to a lady to dog sit, and never came back for him. Unfortunately Finn did not get along with another dog in the home and his owner did not know what to do with him. After he decided fresh chicken was a really good snack she put him in a kennel in the yard. She tried to rehome him for awhile but was unsuccessful and he sat there for a year. Finn did have basic care with her and she tried her best, but he spent most of his time alone. Understandably when he came to us he was like a little kid in a candy store for the first time! Finn was so excited to be around people and other dogs and be able to run and play freely! It took him about three days to calm down! He is a sweet boy, who still gets excited and happy about new things and he is loving his new life living in a home with people and furry friends! Finn is a 2 year old, 14.1 pound mix of something adorable! He has expressive eyes and a tail that never stops wagging. He adores being with people and you will not get very far without his company! Finn seems super grateful to be in a home and soaks up love. He gives kisses, likes to be petted often and seeks out attention. Finn also loves other dogs, although he is in a foster home with a lot of dogs which causes some pack behaviors. He would be best with one or two dogs about his size or bigger who can show him the ropes in his new home. He has not been around cats that we are aware of and we don't think a home with a home with cats is a good idea. Finn would probably be fine with older kids who can give him lots of attention, but he has too much energy for younger ones. He has not spent much time with people or inside so he does need to learn some proper pet manners, like not jumping on people. Finn is not great on a leash, but will walk on one. He is not trained enough to be in a home without a fenced yard. Not only on a leash, he just doesn't understand that he needs to stay within any boundary. Finn knows how to use a doggy door. He is not 100% housebroken but is working on it and does well with positive reinforcement and treats. He LOVES getting praise and food when he did something good! Finn sleeps on the big bed with his person and does well all night long. He snoozes on his back in a funny position, maybe he's hoping for belly rubs in his sleep! He gobbles his food like he's been starved and will need to be fed separately from other dogs or he will gulp down his food and try to get the other's food too. Finn has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue.
