I'm June. Please help me. Although I am the sweetest girl you could ever find, I was the victim of animal cruelty at a human's hand. I was born to a mother who wasn't spayed. Her value to her human was cash from selling puppies cheaply to anyone. I later was on the street and shot in my front right leg. I went to the local HIGH KILL shelter. I was in a concrete kennel with a painful, untreated injury. My life got better when a newly wed couple got me out of the shelter. I was immediately taken to their veterinarian. They paid to have my leg fixed, all vaccines (rabies, lepto, bordetella, influenza, distemper, parvovirus), spay, hearworm and flea/tick prevention. My future looked bright. I finally was healed and comfortable. I went home with my first and only family. They thought I was cute and sweet, and let me play and exercise my leg. My rosy life had a thorn. Their dog, Jack, didn't like me. I understand. He felt his security was at stake. My parents have waited and worked hard to resolve this, but feel they can not be on edge worried I could get hurt. Both have come to an agonizing decision that I need somewhere else to live my life. I'm currently still there, separated from my new family. If I am returned to the shelter, I will be euthanized. I won't have time for another adopter because returning dogs have no mandatory wait time before euthanasia. My Rescuer, Linda, will help all she can with food and supplies. Out of state adopters are welcomed. I'm 2 years old, 45 pounds. I have normal 2 year old energy, but I love relaxing and affection. I LOVE people, including children. I do not like eating with other dogs. I had to starve previously, and I am protective of my food. I'm fine with humans while I'm eating. If there's another female, I want to be alpha top dog. My bag is packed including my food, leash, collar, bandana, simparica trio, and my toys. There's a simple on line application available if you provide your email address.
