About Marly Pop Pop

This is Marly Pop Pop, a 4-year-old (DOB 1-18-2018) Spoiled Rotten Female Aussie Mix Breed, weighing 55 lbs. searching for new forever home. Marly gets along with other dogs however she should be under close supervision and would flourish and be most happy we believe as an only dog with an active family. Probably best with older children that will not pull on her hair or pick on her. When she's bothered, she does just move away. She is not aggressive towards people but will bark at strangers. She is not overly affectionate but will come ask for pats and praise. Not super 'licky' but will give you the occasionally kiss. She will follow you to the bathroom and be your doggie guard while getting potty pats ��%BD��%BD��%BDS She likes her 'space', plays with other dogs, best without toys. She is kind of selfish and doesn't like to share. Marly is super obedient, sit, down, stay, place, here, get the toy, bring it, leave it, up, down. Has never chewed on anything that was not given to her as a toy, is 100% housebroken and kennel trained and has never destroyed anything (other than an occasional toy unstuffing.) She loves walks, the lake, the beach and drives in the car. She is shy with new people and will most times bark and back off, but she comes around quickly when approached appropriately, or left alone to come around herself. She has surprised us a few times by accepting the newcomer into the home without a single bark. She becomes a mush if bribed with a treat and takes treats and food from your hand very gently. She has never bitten a person however has scrapped with our other dogs and that's why we think she would do best as an only dog. She eats top grade dog food. She is fed 2 times a day, breakfast, and dinner. In the morning she gets The Honest Kitchen Human Grade Grain-Free Turkey Whole Food Clusters Dry Dog Food. And at night she gets raw ground beef (80/20) mixed with Sojos Mix-A-Meal Fruit & Veggie Pre-Mix Grain-Free Dog Food. Here she prefers to be fed in her kennel, and its safest for our situation. When we begin to prepare the dog's meals, she runs to her kennel and waits for us to open the door, she bolts in and waits to be served. She loves orange wedges, dog treats and most anything else we have offered her. She is spayed, needs updated shots, and has recently had her snake bite vaccines. She has had her teeth ultrasound cleaned and is due for another teeth cleaning along with updated shots which will be done before placement. I do believe that with positive reinforcement training and more exposure to people and other dogs she would flourish more. Here she is 98% only on the ranch and we get little to no visitors so here she has not been socialized much. She is always watching and on the ready to go and follow you. Very attentive and really wants to please. She has a high prey drive and we rarely if ever go out with her off leash, she is a runner if she see's other people, dogs, coyotes, even squirrels, rabbits, and snakes. She is a good guard dog and will bark until called off (with a little protesting). Marly loves her fenced in yard with the doggie door. She lays on the deck awhile then comes in and claims her favorite armchair. She is very expressive and will make you smile.
