About Gunther

Gunther is goofy, sweet, bouncy, affectionate, and a bit of a gazelle. He's about 2 years old and weighs about 24 lb. We think he's a mix of Boston Terrier, Pug, and Beagle. I don't know what you'd call that mix, perhaps a Boston Puggle? LOL He would love to be with a family that has a fenced yard (4+ feet high) with stuff in the yard (such as agility equipment) for him to play on. If you're into agility training, even better. Gunther loves that kind of interaction with his human. His foster mom thinks he'd do best as the only dog and living with adult humans. He's medium energy but also likes to do zoomies around the yard, hence the fenced yard requirement. He likes to bounce off the furniture indoors so agility equipment or even boulders to climb on in his yard would be fun. He is ok with the dog-friendly cat in his foster home but does want to steal the cat's food so it's best if the cat is fed up on a table in a room away from Gunther's reach. Gunther is crate trained and seems at this point to be pretty much housebroken. He is a good watch dog and will alert you to approaching strangers or unusual noises but is not a crazed barker. Best suited to a single family home with a good sized yard so the neighbors are not really close. In that environment, he will be a gem of a companion. He's a bit too much for seniors and young children but teens to 50's would find him to be a good fit and sweet companion. We hope you like to pet your dog because Gunther lives to be touched. Whether it's gentle petting or back scratches that excite him to the point of yard zoomies, Gunther is a big fan of being touched. He's also most excellent at grubbing for food, so do be careful not to overfeed him. He does enjoy vegetables and loves it when his foster mom gives him a bit of celery or a slice of cucumber. Don't let those eyes convince you to make him fat! Gunther is fostered in northesastern PA in the Poconos and adopters must drive to us to adopt.
