About Sweety

Sweety is appropriately named. She is such a sweet and gentle dog. Despite her young age, she is an old soul. She loves human interaction and wants to be held all of the time. She will snuggle with you on the couch or sleep at the end of your bed then in the morning she will come lay with you and burrow her head under your chin. It is very adorable. On the flip side, with her young age, Sweety still has a lot of playful energy. She would like to have another dog her size and energy level to play with. She has enjoyed her furry foster friends and finds it fun to 'just be a dog' and romp around. In addition, a solid fence yard would be an even bigger bonus so her and her playmates can run around, tongues hanging out in safety. Therefore a furry friend(s) plus fence is preferred, but it isn't 100% deal breaker if the family/her person is home the vast majority of time and committed to playtime, several leash walks, and plenty of fun each day. If you're clothing becomes misplaced, she may be the culprit. She misses you so much she tends to steal any clothing laying on the floor. She has refined tastes so is a little picky about the food she eats, but some trial and error should take care of that. She is working on being fully house trained. She does use pee pads well. A family that will take her out on regular potty breaks to reinforce her potty training will be needed. In addition, a family who will continue to build her training through positive reinforcement is what we are looking for so she will learn basic obdience and proper boundaries. If there are children in the home, Sweety is looking for a home with kids/teenagers. Little kids are too unpredictable/loud/busy for her comfort. A quiter home with someone who is home more often than not, is what Sweety is looking for. Sweety likes to be introduced to strangers slowly otherwise she is standoff-ish and protective of her family. Sweety loves the car and going on road trips, so pack her up and take her along with you. She uses pee pads for potty breaks so will need a family willing to put in the time to build her house training. She will also need crate training and leash training. All of these things are new to Sweety so her new family will need to commit to the time and be patient as she learns new routines. Chihuahua/Papillion mix makes Sweety petite size. Even so, Sweety has no problem using her little voice and likes to bark so an apartment, condo or townhome would not be a good fit. As part of Sweety's $250 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
