About PITA (f) & BOSTON (m)

Adoption Fee: $350
Russian Blue / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Female

It is important you research the cat's lifestyle and needs to make sure that they fit yours - just as you would ensure compatibility with a human, you are committing to share your life for 15+ years. Please take the time to read ALL information provided. PITA & brother BOSTON are the last kitties from Persia's litter and since they are still so young, we are looking to adopt them together as a bonded pair. PITA is here at the rescue with her mum, Persia and 5 siblings. PITA is spayed, core vaccines, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and microchipped. Her date of birth is 15 March 2022. On 20 May she weighted 1.14 pounds. She will need her rabies vaccine when she is old enough. We cannot say for sure what breed she is, so we expect families to do their own research on her look and size and decide what breed you think she is and if you have the lifestyle suitable for her needs. PITA & BOSTON are located at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec and are available for adoption for an adoption fee of $350 for both kittens. Pita is an affectionate kitty, she is litterbox trained and loves to play and chase with her siblings and other young cats here and scratch her claws on the various scratching posts. Cat Application form: https://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/forms/form?formid=6368 We are looking for a family that has time for a kitten / cat and understands that cats can live on average for 13-20 years, however, it is not uncommon for cats to leave over 25 years and so this is a long-term commitment. Families must be prepared to provide cat trees and stimulation toys for the cat/s to play with and provide a healthy, mentally stimulating and fulfilling life. They must understand the importance of being familiar with common medical concerns such as urinary tract disease. Cats are known to mask illness and disease very well, and they don't often show any symptoms until they are very ill All cats are fed a variety of wet and dry food, which varies in brands. They have clumping cat litter, but again varying brands and types from the clay to the more environmental friendly ground shells and such. You MUST understand that cats need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the '3 Point Rule' Days 1-3 your cat is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your cat is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your cat understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/forms/form?formid=6368 ALL Cats are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
