About Donovan

Urgent the shelter is FUll!! Help this poor guy find a forever home before it js too late!! These are dogs that crush us. We don't know what happened to Donovan before he came to the shelter as a stray, but whatever it was, we don't think it was good. Donovan wants to be loved, he wants to be near you, but his fear his so great, it almost overrides all of that. When we took Donovan outside for the first time, he belly-crawled and need a lot of encouragement to keep moving forward. Donovan allows us to pet him, he just asks that we go slow - no surprises please - but he will choose to be near us after a little bit of time together. Watching a scared, shy, shut down pup come out of his shell is one of the most rewarding things about rescue, and while we do see it in the shelter, it's better for dogs like Donovan to learn trust and love in a home. The shelter is loud, scary, chaotic at times; Donovan needs a peaceful loving environment in which to blossom. Can you give Donovan a chance?
