Jemma is an 'active couch potato' and when not lounging on your beds or furniture, requires at least two walks a day, in addition to a couple runs a week. She is great off leash and loves the trails. She is 8 years-old and her recent vet check up report revealed that she is very healthy, seems younger than her age, and has a lot of life ahead of her. She's very clean, barely sheds and weighs 70 lbs. She can curl into a tiny circle and also take up an entire queen size bed. Jemma was rescued from her home after her owner passed away. She is a bit shy and take a minute to warm up but she's a quick learner and very obedient. Although she does great on leash, she does occasionally bark at other dogs if she views them as a threat. This is more noticeable when she's riding in the car or at the house and spots another dog out the window. She has a high prey drive and should not live with cats or small kids. She likely would not do well in a home where someone is away from her for long periods of time for work or travel. We do know she grew up with a small dog and seems to prefer them, but we have yet to see her comfortable enough to play with other dogs. Therefore we are unsure if she'd be happier on her own, or with another dog Jemma is a perfect dog for an experienced dog owner that has time to dedicate towards further training and socialization.
