About Bookie

Bookie is a neutered male Carolina Dog/Catahoula Leopard Hound mix born on 1/15/2022. He will be a medium sized dog, approximately 40 pounds. Bookie is a medium energy boy who enjoys a hike, jog or stroll in the country. At home, he loves to cuddle once he knows you. He is yearning for a family to call his own. Could it be yours? This boy is shy in new situations but does very well with time to adjust. When he is comfortable, he is bouncy and fun. He has been very loving and interested in being with people. He has been friendly towards his foster family. He has gotten along well with dogs in his foster home. Bookie suffered a traumatic incident as a young puppy. His litter was abandoned by a highway. He has done very well and gotten over most of his worries.. He will want to live in a rural location as he is still not fond of road noise. He will do best with continued confidence building, being introduced lovingly to new situations, people and animals. Bookie is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. He has started basic obedience training and is doing very well. Bookie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, worming, heart worm prevention and flea medication.
